The US Navy/Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division (NSWCPD) is responsible for research and development, test and evaluation, engineering and fleet support organization for the Navy’s ships, submarines, military watercraft and unmanned vehicles.
The contract is for NSWCPD Code 333, which is responsible for Ship Systems Hardening. The Ship Systems Hardening Branch (Code 333) provides support for Environmental Qualification and Ship System Hardening Programs within all ship, carrier, and submarine program offices. Services include testing, qualification, analysis, and certification of ship systems and equipment, and technical guidance in the field environmental qualification.
M&J personnel shall provide engineering and technical services required to support Ship Systems Hardening actions in the field environmental qualification. The areas covered by this support shall apply to all surface ship and submarine programs under the cognizance of NSWCPD Materials, Structures, Environmental & Protection Division, Code 33.
PLACE OF WORK
The majority of work will take place on-site at US Navy/Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia. Additional work may take place at an M&J Office location, with additional travel to: Maine, Maryland, Norfolk, Virginia, Newport News, Virginia, Florida, and Japan.
SECURITY CLEARANCE STATEMENT
This position requires a SECRET Level US Government Security Clearance. You must either have an active clearance or the ability to obtain a security clearance at the SECRET level, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret
Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical or Structural Engineering from an accredited college or university.
Minimum Experience: Three (3) years’ experience with environmental qualification and ship systems hardening, to include DDAM and/or transient analysis using ?nite element analysis programs.
